If communication is not clear, then people can misread a situation. A woman saw a father shopping with a fussy two-year-old in his grocery cart. “Be patient, Billy,” he whispered. “You can handle this, Billy. It’s okay, Billy.” The woman came up to the father and said, “I don’t mean to interrupt your shopping, but I just had to tell you how wonderfully loving and patient you are with little Billy.” The
man replied, “Actually, my son’s name is Patrick. My name is Billy.” When Jesus came to earth, His communication was very clear as to His purpose on earth. Jesus came to earth so that God could be glorified. Glorify means to reveal or make clearer the glory of God by one’s actions. Through Jesus’ actions, He made abundantly clear God’s greatness and the fact that God alone, deserves to be praised, honored, and worshipped. Jesus was clear that others should take this to heart and live their lives to give God glory. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16. As we live out our lives, we can live in a way that gives praise to God. We can strive to be clear to others that we are Christians and that makes a difference in how we live our lives. Others can notice this and we can use it as an opportunity to share about the greatness of God and His amazing love.
